malobeo offers you a library, café and a sharing point for exchanging things and food at regular opening hours.
The malobeo is an open meeting place and political experimental space. Far away from the logic of social exploitation, we want to offer a place where we can live together in solidarity. We are organized as a collective and invite all interested people who share our consensus to be part of malobeo. In addition, we would like to create a place that is regularly open as a café, anarchist library and sharing point, and as an event space that offers space for all forms of solidary togetherness: From workshops, to KüfAs, to movie nights and lectures. On the site of the Collective you can find meetings and protocols as well as opportunities to get involved.
We are very happy to receive criticism, suggestions and information. Please use an encryption technique. You can find our OpenPGP key on our contact page.
anarchist Library
Library Table of all publications in malobeo: library_stock_malobeo [03.2021]
Most books are in German, some in English/Spanish.
How to Borrow: When you borrow a book, please sign up for the borrowing list. Bring the book back in a reasonable time frame 😉 Then place it in the return box. To donate a book, place it in the book donation slot. If you are missing a title, add it to the wish list.
The Malobeo offers the possibility to explore the basic stock of anarchist library. First and foremost, it should enable you to read critical content without spending money, to borrow it and to discuss it with your friends in the store. In the children’s corner there is a selection of emancipatory children’s books. The library is always under construction and can grow with your help. So if you have books at home that you have already read or that are just sitting on the shelf, bring them to our rooms and make your knowledge available. The basic idea of libertarian libraries is the view of publications as conserved knowledge. If one rejects the basic concept of property, as a construct of domination, the consequence can only be not to make these same claims on (conserved) knowledge. The premise is: Do not hoard knowledge, but spread it!
In the room you will find a foodsharing shelf and a fairteiler fridge. In this you can donate food that you have left over and/or take food out. Additionally, there will be donated food from farms and markets gathered by the foodsharing network Dresden in the fridge. Please note that we prefer to accept vegan food. Click here for the foodsharing webiste.
Café
The café is open during store hours. It needs people who want to take over a store shift, preferably on a regular basis! It should offer the opportunity for exchange, discussion & co-working. Coffee, tea and water are usually available in the free space. You can just take stuff and refill as you like.
The malobeo has a changing table (opposite the toilet, behind the velvet curtain) and a children’s play corner with emancipatory children’s books. There is also a mobile wheelchair ramp. The toilet is not barrier-free, and not accessible by wheelchair.
